1. Change login admin/password
2. Change SSID (no “linksys”) - use something else (e.g. cartoon’s character name.)
3. “Hide” SSID (do not broadcast)
4. At the minimum, turn on WEP, better yet use WPA
5. Position the wireless router in the center of the house, so hackers can’t easily access them from outside your windows.
6. (Tech) Change router IP addresses (instead of the default 192.168.0.1 - changes to 192.168.5.15)
7. (Tech) Use MAC address filtering
